NEW SS24 COLLECTION

A delightful marriage of warm and cool tones provide the backdrop to our Spring Summer ’24 collection. We took a trip down memory lane, delving into the archives to rediscover idiosyncratic colour palettes and in-house designed prints, elements that are synonymous to the Caramel brand.

Vintage influences are present throughout the collection, particularly within the exquisite detailing and silhouettes of the garments. Pinafore dresses trimmed with rickrack, floral smocking and broderie anglaise ruffled collars mirror the antique treasures found rummaging through French brocantes.

Sun-soaked hues of golden yellow and blush pink take form in Liberty’s Clementina Floral, 70s-inspired cotton patchwork and Caramel’s in house designed Geometric Print, this season in burnt apricot.

Silk slip dresses in sorbet shades of pomegranate pink, mint green and blueberry are reminiscent of old-school gelateria’s where three flavours or more are commonplace.

Cotton poplin with a floral rose & posy print against a deep blue backdrop materialises in a multitude of silhouettes. The cooler tones continue through red silk checks, blue stripes and richly coloured tartans provide a refreshing palette for summer dressing.

 For the evening chills, sumptuous cashmere jumpers in sky blue, toffee and mink accompany colour-contrasting cardigans in a merino wool blend.

 Techniques that celebrate craft and creativity continue to be focal to Caramel’s design process. Using engraved wooden blocks, the original method for printing textiles, berry buds are block printed onto dobby fabric, providing each garment with a unique texture. Breathable fabrics such as Peruvian sourced Pima cotton and Japanese-sourced miracle weave create a sense of ease on the hottest of summer days.

Delicate cotton is handloomed into subtle pink, white and indigo checks and an earthy-toned cotton voile, woven in Japan, fuses quintessential English tartan with Japanese textiles and artistry.
