On The Farm SS22
For Spring Summer 2022, Eva Karayiannis, founder of Caramel recalls how many people reconne Acted with nature during the pandemic.
“For the first time being locked in my room, and having the sun streaming through my window, I saw – really saw – how vibrant all nature’s colours looked, more special somehow.”
The nostalgia and whimsy of halcyon hot spring days in the countryside and farms were a visual reference point for Karayiannis: children wearing unisex clothes in a palette which looked to muddy browns and the green shoots of spring are visible in geometric in-house design prints.
Halter neck lurex knit swimsuits in combinations of chocolate/ mustard or coral/ blue stripes inject a touch of retro glamour to the bucolic that recalls searing hot sunshine. Paired with a denim, utility inspired jacket, the mood nods to the Seventies.
Plundering natural pigments and shades of green is juxtaposed by shots of gold, most winningly when a mossy sage cashmere crew neck sweater is paired with the lustrousness of a gold cloque fabric skirt.
Emerald geometric print is inspired by Moroccan floor tiling whilst effortless jersey pieces in a palette of neutrals are go-anywhere, go-with anything staples that you will return to all summer.
